About Jen

Good things come in small packages…….or at least that’s what I have been told all my life.  People often joke that I look like a turtle with my camera bag on my back and yes, it nearly weighs as much as I do  😉

I photograph so many things, people and places.  I can go from one day photographing static shop fronts to the next day running around trying to capture a toddler as their joyous energetic selves.  Then there is the love and romance (and sometimes stress) of a wedding day to the peacefulness of watching a newborn baby sleep.  My days bring me so much joy and I love what I do immensely.

I just adore dandelions too and always have.  I think it was a sign that I designed my business logo using dandelions and then I found this website template……it’s called dandelion!  I truly believe everything happens for a reason.

Seeing dandelions in your dreams means pleasant and joyous surroundings. The dream may even seek to bring you back to your childhood and past memories.

To dream that you are blowing on dandelions symbolizes fleeting moments. You are trying to recapture a certain time in your life. You feel that time is passing you by.

So why not capture these moments??  Simple, special, extraordinary moments.

As a mother myself now I am always trying to take photos of my daughter.  My husband laughs and says “don’t photograph it , just live it”  Well I want to do BOTH!

And I want that for everyone else too.  Are we really going to remember everything as the years pass us by?  Life is full of moments that we want to pause, savor and remember.  I believe photography allows a little bit of this …………..

I kind of fell into photography when I was 16 and about to graduate from high school.  I applied to do photography at uni at the last minute and was accepted to the interview stage but I rang and declined the appointment.  I had never had any type of part time job at school so I went and approached two photographic labs to see if they had any work.  I ended up having two interviews and got both jobs! (Much to my parents amazement as they were thinking I was going to end up at Macca’s or a checkout chick seeing as I had NO experience in ANYTHING!)  And that’s where it all began……………………..

Here I am, 17 years later…….. and I did actually end up doing my studies while I worked in the industry – just to get that official piece of paper.  I have had an amazing career and won many awards (including Wedding Album of the year at the Edge Excellence awards in 2009 and then I was runner up in 2010)

The best part of what I do though is meeting incredible people.  I have been so fortunate to have captured so many peoples memories and I hope my images bring them joy always.  I am so lucky to be able to call my clients my friends and continue to share in their lives and the journey that unfolds……their weddings, their pregnant bellies, their babies, their families and their lives.  Thank you to everyone who chooses me to do this.  It really is an honour.
